Not Hungry Enough
This is a track from the Brilliant album Black hair Black eyes Black suit from the fantastic Hugh Cornwell,, It is the american version of Guilty. Two tracks had been added to this album (Jesus will weep & Not hungry enough) However the track Five miles high had been omitted from it and was on the guilty album I don,t know why.. Even Hugh himself don,t know why..

Geesh, he was depressed.
This song would have fit into the Aural Sculpture period.
Relaxing and beautiful ❤❤❤
This is so good live
this song is about heroin
2024 .The humdrum is still alive and kicking
Once you figure out the pattern it's really easy. You do the exact same thing over and over again. But at a first glance this was one of the hardest puzzles I've tried
God I've been singing the wrong lyrics for years !! 😂
Hugh got the title of this song from someone quoting it in an old movie.Wish i knew which movie it was.
gran bel pezzo!
Masterpiece
Belfast, beer, fegs, ghetto blaster, batteries. That`s us!
This is the demo for the song.
23 related relevant remember 😢
How wonderful, I knew 90pc of the lyrics but you’ve filled in the gaps , cheers 🍻 👍🏴
Stupid song
What is it about this song that makes me feel like life is going to be okay? I was bummed out about Amy Winehouse thinking my God this poor beautiful talented woman no one cared to help her and boom this song came on and made me think she’s at peace in death.
This song is about the Brown Heroin we smoked in the 80s
I guess because it's a song about good memories of something that isn't there anymore. (I know, it's about a certain type of heroïn, but it could be about anything) When you're susceptible for language/words, the line "never a frown" relaxes. Than the classic harpsichord sound et voilà. I think that they tried to put the experiences with that type of drugs into music as well. VERY relaxed.
man, english is not my first language. what the fuck is this song about
Is he singing about heroin?
Yes, it's referring to the drown smoke able heroin some of us were drawn into in the 80s. Sadly, like a fish, I got hooked for many years, but it wasn't all bad
Yes. Music 🎶. Like at a fairground is why I love this song so much. Fairground on the merry -go-round
This was one of 3 tracks, including 'Vicious Circles' and 'So Uncool' on 'In the Night' that weren't included in my Apple download. Robbed I tell you!
I celebrated My 73rd birthday this week and I listened this song a year ago. Tremendous!
Love this
I understand.
What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?....... Don't know, don't care.
Nice fluid movement you've got there! Hmmmm....... this should be a 3D printable toy!
Song so British it colonised my mind
Sounds like a mixture of yellowcake uf6 and longships. Does sound like the raven era. No keyboards. Just sounds like a jamming session.
It's critiquing the individual not society imo, all the stuff only happens with our consent. Stop the war? The money men won't until they are made to by the majority of free thinking individuals collectively. The power of NO? It's all DIY folks. Only I can weed my back yard. You?
Suga Boom Boom
Loved this when it only got released, and it's as significant today as much as then.✌️☯️
The only Seger song I care for.
Brilliant song. Almost pink Floyd type wordplay. Congrats to those critical of his lyric post. You just became part of the song...ignorant people. Only a couple of mistakes but he took the trouble and did his best. Give him a break. Nice to be nice
Xcellent band
A classic and great version, thanks for sharing
One time I was watching tv with my parents and my brother and this song popped up on the background of a video that played, from the first note it played I was in love, I asked my parents if they could rewind it and let me use Shazam to find the song, it was like 3 years ago when I found it and it still makes me feel something I cannot describe, a weird feeling but very pleasant too. Awesome band with great songs! Love to The Stranglers❤️
Love this song from the first time i hear it (so young, so many years ago)!!!
Bought it back in the 80's, nothing ever changes..
Every time I hit I-70 and head to California, this song is blasting!
A great song especially the Eddie and the hot rods cover
This has to be one of the most difficult karaoke songs. Lol There's a couple of points in the lyrics that would challenge the breath control of most amateurs.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time
Always liked this song. Long live the Stranglers.☘️
"Down in the Sewer" has four sections: "Falling", "Down in the Sewer", "Trying to Get Out Again", and "Rat's Rally". The 'sewer' refers to London. Lyrically the song references an episode of the 1975 post-apocalyptic BBC TV drama Survivors titled "Lights of London", where the protagonists leave the safety of a farming community to head for the city, which they find can only be entered through a rat-infested sewer.
Great song.
Correction: "Lyrics NOT in sync with song" There fixed it
Adding entire verses before they are sung? Yikes. Watch a tutorial. Ugh, cant watch this.
Too many words onscreen same time. Should be timed to appear as heard with slight lead time, but not in giant clusters that include lines that have already passed still showing. Lazy editing.
My sister put this on a mixtape for me.
